Miami outfielder Bobby Marsh enters the NCAA transfer portal

Miami outfielder Bobby Marsh has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. He does so after spending just one year with the Hurricanes.
Marsh initially began his college career at Florida Atlantic in 2022, then transferred to Penn State for the 2023 and 2024 seasons. He moved to Miami last offseason, spending one season with the ‘Canes. During the 2025 campaign, Marsh saw 151 at-bats across 46 appearances. He averaged .245 at the plate, knocking out seven home runs, a triple and nine doubles. He had 39 RBI.
Needless to say, he’ll be a quality addition for whoever picks him up in the transfer portal. Miami, of course, will be looking to backfill his production at this point.
Prior to transferring to Miami, Marsh played in 53 games for Penn State in 2023-24. He hit .309 and collected six homers, a triple and 10 doubles. He had 47 RBI. The year before at Penn State, Marsh was equally productive. He appeared in 44 games and hit .310, notching six home runs and 13 doubles to go with 35 RBI.
Miami adds infielder via the portal
While Bobby Marsh is headed out, Miami has also made some inroads in the transfer portal. Former USC Upstate infielder Vance Sheahan has committed to Miami, he announced on Twitter. Sheahan was an All-Big South First-Team selection this season and was the Big South Freshman of the Year in 2024.

In his two years at USC Upstate, Sheahan tallied 103 appearances and 100 starts. He posted a .321/.396/.480 slash line, along with 14 home runs and 76 RBIs.
In the field, Sheahan has 111 career putouts. However, he also has 21 errors, including 15 this season, for a .939 fielding percentage. Sheahan will look to erase some of those pesky errors in his season at Miami.
Vance Sheahan played high school baseball at Cardinal Newman (FL), where he was the No. 626 overall player and No. 105 shortstop in Florida in the 2023 recruiting cycle, according to Perfect Game. As a senior, Sheahan recorded a 321/.427/.423 slash line and collected 22 runs, eight doubles, and 17 RBI’s.
