Report: Miami star receiver Xavier Restrepo out indefinitely with foot injury

It’s a bad time for some even worse news for Miami as the Hurricanes head to College Station for a matchup with Texas A&M this weekend: star receiver Xavier Restrepo is out indefinitely with a foot injury.
The news, first reported by Susan Miller Degnan and Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, comes at perhaps the most inopportune time on Miami’s schedule. Restrepo has unquestionably been one of Miami’s best players this season, and he surely would’ve been leaned upon in the game against the Aggies on Saturday.
Restrepo, a 5-foot-10, 190(ish) pound slot receiver, is Miami’s leading receiver through two games by a wide margin. The junior had 11 catches for 172 yards and a touchdown (the next closest pass catchers had five for 76 or six for 65).
The Hurricanes and Aggies are slated for a 9 p.m. EST kickoff in College Station on Saturday.

Starting quarterback Tyler Van Dyke is just the latest to share what the trip to College Station means to him.

“We’re really excited as a team to get to College Station,” said Van Dyke. “Once in a lifetime opportunity, a great team, they have a great defense, many players – high recruits – many players. So it’s going to be a challenge and we’re going to be ready for it.
“It’s just a good feeling going into another team’s stadium and making plays, making the crowd quiet. At the end of the day, all the work you put in and practice, you’re the ones feeling it. You’re the ones getting excited after we score a touchdown at an away stadium.”
