Fresno State transfer QB Mikey Keene schedules visit with Michigan

Fresno State transfer quarterback Mikey Keene has scheduled a visit to Michigan over the weekend, On3’s Pete Nakos reported. He is also set to take a trip to Ole Miss on Thursday.
Keene is considered one of the top quarterbacks in the portal, ranking No. 32 at the position according to On3’s Transfer Portal Player Rankings. He brings two years of starting experience with the Bulldogs and also started 11 games at UCF in the 2021 season.
Keene threw for a total of 5,868 yards and 42 touchdowns to 21 interceptions across his two seasons at Fresno State while leading the Bulldogs to a 15-12 record. This past season, he led the Mountain West with 2,892 yards passing to go with 18 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He is certainly more of a pocket passer with -379 yards rushing throughout his entire career.
Prior to joining Fresno State, Keene also started 11 games at UCF, leading the Knights to an 8-3 record. He threw for 1,730 yards and 17 touchdowns to six interceptions as a true freshman before taking a redshirt the following year after appearing in only four games.

Keene played his high school football for Chandler (AZ), where he was a three-star prospect in the 2021 class. He ranked as the No. 817 overall player and No. 63 quarterback in the cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Michigan is coming off of a season in which is struggled mightily at the quarterback position, starting three different players throughout the year. It ultimately ended the season with a 7-5 record just one year after winning the national championship.
The Wolverines signed Bryce Underwood, the nation’s No. 1 recruit in the 2025 cycle, but could use some experience to help him come along early in his career. It’s possible Keene could end up being that guy if Michigan can convince him to come to Ann Arbor.
