Michigan defensive back Zeke Berry suffered an injury early in the third quarter of a game against Oklahoma. He went down following a pileup on a tackle in the run game.

Berry attempted to get up following the injury, but he quickly returned to the turf. He was holding his lower right leg.

It appeared that Zeke Berry’s legs were tangled up with other defenders in the pile. It’s possible he was stepped on. In any case, he went down in obvious pain following the collision.

Following the injury for Berry, the ABC broadcast cut to a commercial. The broadcast crew did not provide any immediate updates on his status coming out of the commercial break. On3 will provide updates here in the event they become available.

Bryce Underwood gets into sideline shouting match

The Zeke Berry injury was just the latest thing to go wrong for Michigan on a road trip that was proving quite troublesome. Earlier in the game, quarterback Bryce Underwood let his frustrations boil over on the team’s sideline.

The brief altercation was broken up by teammates, but not before ABC’s cameras captured some of the drama. Underwood was seen stalking the sidelines when he turned around and began looking for running back Justice Haynes.

As he found Haynes, he reached out and grabbed him by the left arm, turning him around. At that point, a teammate attempted to intervene, keeping himself between Bryce Underwood and Justice Haynes.

The confrontation involved some brief yelling, then Underwood headed off to his end of the bench. You can view the interaction here. Cooler heads eventually prevailed, and the ABC cameras showed a shot of a very calm Bryce Underwood on the sidelines on the ensuing Oklahoma series.

Oklahoma led Michigan 21-10 midway through the third quarter at the time of this writing. Zeke Berry had not returned on the subsequent defensive series.
