Missouri starting quarterback Beau Pribula suffered a serious injury on a fourth-down attempt in the low red zone against Vanderbilt. He immediately left the game.

Pribula appeared to have his legs twisted under a pair of defenders. He immediately began writhing on the ground in pain as trainers raced to tend to him.

The starting quarterback was placed into an air cast and loaded into a cart to get him off the field. He was then helped into a wheelchair on the sidelines.

The play in question occurred early in the third quarter, after coach Eli Drinkwitz opted to go for it on fourth-and-goal from about the 2-yard line. Beau Pribula kept the ball on a keeper off the right side, but ran into a defender around the 1-yard line.

He was pushed back and began to topple over backward, but his left leg was caught under a defender and appeared to bend under the weight. Pribula instantly showed signs of pain, as the defenders cleared off of him on the pile. Missouri was stopped short on the play, turning it over on downs.

Beau Pribula had gone 9-of-14 passing for 68 yards, with no touchdowns and no interceptions in the contest, prior to his exit. He had also run four times for 10 yards.

Backup Matt Zollers was set to take over following the injury. He was seen warming up on the sidelines prior to entering the contest.

The loss of Beau Pribula will be significant for Missouri. He’s been the team’s starting quarterback throughout the year after transferring in from Penn State this offseason. He’s a dual-threat prospect, too, which means the offense could be more limited with him on the sidelines.

So far this season, Pribula has gone 149-of-213 passing for 1,617 yards, with 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He has also run for 210 yards and five scores.
