Navy head coach Cary Kolat joined On3 Wrestling to preview the upcoming season for the Midshipmen following a breakthrough campaign.

After 184 pounder David Key earned All-American status in 2024, Navy returns a solid lineup looking for me. Team captain Josh Koderhandt (141) highlights the lineup where Navy looks to put multiple wrestlers on the podium at the 2025 NCAA Wrestling Championships.

Navy Opens its 116th season with a dual against Pittsburgh. The Midshipmen will battle the Panthers on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 2 p.m. in Pittsburgh, Pa. The dual will serve as the 42nd all-time meeting between the two programs. Navy claimed last year’s meeting, 21-12 in Annapolis.

The postseason for Navy starts with the EIWA Championship hosted by Lehigh in Bethlehem, Pa., March 7-8. Navy returns seven athletes who wrestled at last seasons EIWA Championship, including Koderhandt, who won the 141 title.
