NC State pitcher Chance Mako enters NCAA Transfer Portal

NC State pitcher Chance Mako is not with the Wolfpack for their run in Omaha and has instead entered the transfer portal, On3 has learned.
According to a prominent baseball Twitter user named Mike London, Mako is already participating in the Cape Cod Baseball League while his actual college team continues their run in the College World Series.
“Former East Rowan pitcher Chance Mako is on roster of Harwich Mariners in Cape Cod Baseball League,” tweeted London. “Pitched very little this season at NC State — he’s in the Cape, not Omaha — but with his size and stuff he still could have a big future. Lots of scouts will see him in the CCBL.”
While in Cape Cod, it appears Mako will also be evaluating potential new destinations ahead of next year’s season.
CWS recap

In the opener of the event, Virginia and North Carolina saw their respective starting pitchers — Evan Blanco and Jason DeCaro — turn in strong performances as both offenses cobbled together a handful of runs. Entering the bottom of the ninth inning, the score was knotted at 2-2 when North Carolina pinch hitter Jackson Van De Brake slashed a double with no outs.
He was advanced to third base on a sacrifice bunt before Hero Of The Postseason, Vance Honeycutt, came up with two outs and delivered a walk-off single to left field, giving North Carolina a 3-2 win.

Tennessee and Florida State kept the action coming in the second game of the CWS. The Volunteers escaped the heated battle with a 12-11 jaw-dropping victory after clawing back from a five-run deficit through four innings.
In the win, Tennessee standout Christian Moore recorded a single, double, triple and home run, becoming only the second player to ever record a cycle in the CWS. The only other player was Minnesota’s Jerry Kindall, who achieved the feat in 1956.
The dramatic events have shifted into the second day, with another walk-off win taking place in Omaha. Kentucky hit a home run in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game. One inning later, Mitchell Daly sent one into the left field bullpen to give the Wildcats their first-ever win in the College World Series.
Florida and Texas A&M played late into the night, with the game finishing just past 1 a.m. CT. The wait due to the weather turned out to be well worth it for the Aggies, leaving with a 3-2 win. A good way to get into the winner’s bracket and set themselves up for success.
