4-star WR Janiran Bonner flips from Georgia Tech to Nebraska

Ellenwood (Ga.) Cedar Grove wide receiver Janiran Bonner committed to Georgia Tech nine months ago, but on the day it counts the most, he flipped to Nebraska.
The 6-foot-1, 193-pound four-star held off from signing early to see if any new opportunities came along. He wanted to make sure he made the best decision.
Florida State came in. Memphis was in this too. But it was Nebraska that came in hardest. They got Bonner on campus for a visit, and won out in the end.
“About three weeks ago, I got on the phone with Mickey Joseph and that is when things started,” Bonner said. “Coach Joseph then came to see me. The next week he and Scott Frost came, and I just came back from my official visit last weekend.
“It happened fast, but I love the fit, and I feel Nebraska is the best school for me.”
After many conversations with coach Joseph and having the chance to meet coach Frost, Bonner went into his visit feeling good about the Cornhuskers. He just had to get a feel for the actual environment.

“I knew when I was there that Nebraska was the one. The people, the staff, the atmosphere, it was all great. I just like the fit for me there.
“The relationships were there, the connections are strong, and the environment is right for me to be me. When I left, I knew I was locked in.”
Bonner was committed to a local school not far from home, so to flip to another school in the midwest was difficult, right?
“It was not a hard decision at all,” Bonner said. “I held off from signing early for a reason and this was it.
“I wanted to make sure I found the best opportunity for me. Nebraska is it.”
