Nebraska-Creighton set date in December for next matchup in basketball rivalry

The next chapter in the Nebraska-Creighton basketball rivalry has an official date, as the Cornhuskers will host them in December. The two schools — just 50 miles away from each other — have history against each other dating back to 1923 when they first played against each other. After a long hiatus from the first days of the rivalry, the schools have played each other yearly since 1977.
CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein shared the news on Tuesday that Nebraska will host the Bluejays this season on Dec. 3 at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
The Bluejays lead the series 29-27 all-time, but last year went to the Cornhuskers in a big way. Creighton came into the matchup having won three-in-a-row against Nebraska, and were the No. 7 team in the nation at the time. Nebraska knocked them off their lofty spot early in the year with a 63-53 win in Omaha.
