On Thursday, Nebraska freshman quarterback and former five-star recruit Dylan Raiola issued a call to action on social media to Nebraska fans to come show their support to Five-Star Plus+ offensive tackle recruit David Sanders Jr., who arrived in Lincoln on Friday.

And the nation’s No. 1 offensive tackle arrived to Raiola waiting for him at the airport in Omaha, where they’ll then head to Lincoln for a meeting with Nebraska fans on Friday night.

Nebraska fans flocked to campus to welcome the elite pass protector to campus, and Sanders posted a clip of the welcoming committee to his Instagram account.

Sanders is set to visit both Nebraska and Tennessee this weekend as he prepares to make his college decision on August 17. Sanders will choose between Nebraska, Tennessee, Ohio State and Georgia.

Sanders is the nation’s No. 2 overall prospect, No. 1 offensive tackle and top recruit from North Carolina in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

More on the Huskers’ pursuit of David Sanders

He took an official visit to Lincoln in the spring. After the family’s last trip to campus, Sanders’ mother spoke to On3 about the trip.

“We had a great weekend at Nebraska,” Sanders’ mother said. “We had an opportunity to spend time with head Coach Matt Rhule. He and his staff were extremely grateful that we spent the weekend with them. All the coaches spent a lot of time with us explaining how David would be a game changer to the program.

… Now in finding out that David was the highest-ranked prospect to ever visit Nebraska in the internet era was a total shock. David is truly a unique player and person. We as a family have been blessed and fortunate to have the opportunity to allow David to see this recruiting process through.”

Nebraska was not initially part of the final group of schools on Sanders’ list this spring, but made the cut earlier this month. And according to the latest intel from On3’s Steve Wiltfong, they are a legitimate threat to land the elite offensive tackle.

“If Nebraska can get him to campus this weekend, I think that they’re having good dialogue, good conversations with the family behind the scenes,” Wiltfong said earlier this week. “I don’t think any of the other contenders are sleeping on Nebraska, when you’re talking about Ohio State folks, Tennessee sources, Georgia is the fourth finalist. But I think people are viewing Nebraska as a real contender here with a few weeks to go in the David Sanders sweepstakes.”
