Nebraska football injury updates: Matt Rhule reveals Huskers' health ahead of Minnesota

Coming off a tough road win at Maryland and playing on a short week at Minnesota, Nebraska coach Matt Rhule was asked about his team’s health status early this week. He revealed the program is in pretty good shape.
That’s not to say there aren’t any knocks. Only that they’re mostly minor.
“So I thought Elijah Pritchett played a fantastic game,” Matt Rhule told reporters. “You know even the one sack he gave up there was a miscommunication, he was supposed to have a chip, the back went across. So it was just like, it wasn’t on Pritchett.
“But the play he made on Isaiah’s touchdown… He went as long as he could. He rolled his ankle and just kept playing, kept playing, kept playing. Really proud of what Elijah did. So some guys are beat up like that.”
Another player who was banged up late in the contest was receiver Jacory Barney. He was injured on a special teams play.
“Jacory, I’ve never seen a guy get hit like that,” Matt Rhule said. “He gets hit on the last punt return, which should have been a touchdown probably. Comes out and he’s right back in. So I think we’re probably just a little bit bruised, but not a lot of like major, major injuries. It’s a short week.”

The final update Matt Rhule provided was on cornerback Malcolm Hartzog. He has not played since the season opener, dealing with an undisclosed injury.
“We’re going to see what Malcolm can do, so maybe we’ll get some guys back too,” Rhule said. Alas, Hartzog will not play Friday.
Rhule further clarified on Wednesday of this week that Malcolm Hartzog has been ruled out for the contest against Minnesota. So not everyone will be available.
Nebraska is set to take on Minnesota on the road on Friday at 8 p.m. ET. The game will be carried live on FOX.
