By now you’ve probably heard some sort of story regarding Bill Belichick and girlfriend Jordon Hudson. It’s been quite the PR mess for North Carolina considering the theories, reporting and why this could be the ultimate distraction for Belchick.

However, the North Carolina head coach denied Hudson was a distraction. This came out despite Hudson interfering with a CBS This Morning interview, allegedly being the reason why Hard Knocks pulled out of following UNC this summer and forcing her way onto a Super Bowl commercial alongside Belichick.

“That’s what I do as I stay focused on football and some of the other opportunities that come along,” Belichick said on The Pivot Podcast. “You know, Jordon looks at those and can dig into them a little bit deeper, but really, what she does helps me spend my time on football, and that’s what’s important to me.”

Clark then followed up with a question about what Hudson actually does. Belichick previously said she’s not involved with the football program. In this sitdown interview, Belichick claimed Hudson was acting like a sports information director, but personally, for him, especially due to the lack of an SID.

“Well, nothing with North Carolina, that would be number one,” Belichick said of Hudson’s role. “It would be personal opportunities, could be a speaking thing. It could be an appearance on this, or talk about that, or somebody wants, whatever it happens to be, autographs or that type of thing. And so, you know, she’ll kind of help organize that for me. And one of the first things that came out was when North Carolina sent me emails saying, like, these people want to talk to these people and talk to these people want to talk, these people want to talk to, I sent back in the email: ‘Can you please copy Jordon on these requests?’”

Hudson’s involvement based on Belcichick’s email was certainly interpreted a certain way and perhaps skewed. Belichick maintained it was strictly for organizational purposes.

“There was nobody, we didn’t have a sports information guy that was taking (these requests),” Belichick said. “Because all emails are shared publicly, that was taken as Jordon’s running the sports information department. And that also led to a narrative which is like, totally, she’s not doing it. I mean, there was nobody that helped me sort them out, so I was asking her to do it.

“And the ‘Hard Knocks’ thing, you know, like, just for the record, ‘Hard Knocks’ is training camp, and we’re not training camp. We’re just not … that’s not what we are.”
