David Pollack on Bill Belichick's relationship with Jordon Hudson: 'Getting a little bit out of control'

North Carolina head coach Bill Belichick‘s relationship with his 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, has only gained more and more attention as the offseason has progressed. This attention skyrocketed after CBS This Morning aired an awkward interview with Belichick, in which Hudson interrupted several times.
Hudson also stormed out of the room at one point, delaying the interview for 30 minutes, according to TMZ. There’s been no shortage of opinions on Belichick’s relationship with Hudson and, on Wednesday, college football analyst David Pollack added his take on the situation to the public forum.
“I don’t think he lost the ability to coach football. Now, this girlfriend thing is getting a little bit out of control,” Pollack said. “It’s so weird to see him do media now. And I know he did media last year when he was sitting out, but it’s still uncomfortable. It’s still uncomfortable to watch. I hope these kids can relate to him, but he’s gonna have to do what he did in New England for a number of years.
“He did it with less. He didn’t have a bunch of a bunch of superstars. Now, he had superstars early in his career, but once he got a little bit older, he was doing more with less because the roster wasn’t that good. He was building it too, so I mean that was that was partly his fault.”
While Belichick and Co. have continued to make offseason moves to build North Carolina’s roster, college football fans have been more focused on the off-the-field drama unfolding in Chapel Hill. Belichick hasn’t helped ease the attention, either.

Earlier this year, the 73-year-old head coach requested UNC athletic department staff to copy Hudson in all emails involving him. Additionally, multiple videos surfaced of Hudson talking to Belichick and other UNC staff members during football practice.
Pollack believes Belichick not only needs to get his relationship drama under control, but successfully create a game plan that will address some of the areas the Tar Heels lack talent. After all, Belichick will undoubtedly face some challenges with a team that lost 41 players to the transfer portal this offseason.
As for Pollack’s concern about Belichick’s relationship, the first-year Tar Heels head coach doesn’t seem to be worried. During an appearance on The Pivot Podcast, Belichick emphasized that Hudson isn’t involved in the football program.
“Well, nothing with North Carolina, that would be No. 1,” Belichick said of Hudson’s role. “It would be personal opportunities, could be a speaking thing. It could be an appearance on this, or talk about that, or somebody wants, whatever it happens to be, autographs or that type of thing. She’ll kind of help organize that for me.”
