North Carolina to hire ACC football staffer for administrative role

North Carolina will hire Patrick Suddes as its assistant athletic director for football and general manager, On3’s Matt Zenitz reported. Suddes previously held the same role with Georgia Tech.
An Atlanta native, he directed the recruiting office and roster management in his role with the Yellowjackets. His expertise helped them to sign the 27th overall recruiting class in 2020, according to On3 Sports. The Yellowjackets also landed two players in the top 100 of On3’s Transfer Portal rankings in safety Ahmari Harvey and offensive tackle Pierce Quick. They gained an additional commitment from Clemson offensive tackle Paul Tchio, a top 10 transfer player at his position.
Georgia Tech signed the No. 51 recruiting class in 2022, according to On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Suddes got his start as a recruiting intern for Nick Saban at LSU in 2004. Prior to arriving in Georgia Tech, he was the assistant athletic director for both Auburn and Arizona State. He was also the associate director of football operations at Alabama from 2007-13 under Saban. He spent two season with the Miami Dolphins in 2005 and 2006.
