North Carolina LB Khmori House plans to enter NCAA Transfer Portal
North Carolina linebacker Khmori House plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, per On3’s Pete Nakos. House transferred to North Carolina last offseason after spending his freshman year at Washington.
House recorded a team-high 78 tackles this season, along with a sack, a forced fumble, a pass breakup and an interception. For his efforts, House was named an All-ACC Honorable Mention selection.
In his true freshman season at Washington, House appeared in all 12 of the Huskies’ regular-season games. He tallied 35 tackles, a forced fumble, four pass breakups and an interception.
House is the fourth North Carolina player to announce his intent to enter the transfer portal this season. UNC’s roster underwent a complete makeover last season after the school fired head coach Mack Brown and hired Bill Belichick.
The Tar Heels added 42 players to their roster from the transfer portal last offseason. North Carolina was ranked No. 8 in On3’s 2025 Team Transfer Portal Rankings.
The Tar Heels’ offseason efforts didn’t lead to immediate success in Belichick’s debut campaign. North Carolina finished this season with a 4-8 overall record and a 2-6 mark in conference play.
UNC showed flashes of promise throughout the season, most notably when it pieced together back-to-back wins against Syracuse and Stanford. Alas, the Tar Heels ultimately fell short of bowl eligibility after losing their final three games of the regular season.

Khmori House played high school football at St. John Bosco (CA), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 99 overall player and No. 4 linebacker in the 2024 recruiting cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Rankings.
House came under criticism in November after a report from WRAL revealed he’d “accumulated five speeding and four reckless driving charges within a short span.” UNC’s roster had allegedly amassed 31 speeding charges and 10 reckless driving counts at the time of the report.
House has two years of eligibility remaining. He released a statement regarding his decision to enter the transfer portal on Instagram.
“This year has been a rollercoaster, and the sport of football has always kept me afloat and level-headed. I came to the University of North Carolina because God guided me here,” House wrote. “It was a bold move, but I always just listened to what He was telling me.
“Even though it might not be what seems to be the correct or normal decision, what some people might look at as a loss I take for a lesson. I learned so much this year, not only about football but how to carry myself through life. This was another chapter in my life, which I’m super grateful for, but I’m ready to open up my next one and thrive in it. I’m a new man, better player, confident leader, and more prepared than ever to take this next step into whatever college program I end up choosing.”
