WRAL, a Raleigh TV station, was forced to censor a Bill Belichick interview and refrain from asking the coach any questions about his girlfriend Jordon Hudson. Hudson’s recent actions stemming from a CBS interview resulted in a PR nightmare over the last couple of weeks.

Recently, Belichick denied that Hudson was involved with North Carolina football in any way. Pablo Torre, recently of ESPN fame, did a deep dive into the relationship and uncovered a lot, which included Hudson forcing her way onto a Super Bowl commercial and seemingly being a nightmare behind the scenes when it comes to the public image.

Relationship questions aside, Hudson was allegedly the reason why HBO pulled the plug on Hard Knocks with North Carolina. So, Brian Murphy of WRAL was naturally curious about Hudson, 24, but was told no questions relating to non-football topics.

“Hi, I’m Brian Murphy with WIL News. We’re here at Amelia Island, Florida at the ACC spring meetings, and we’re talking with UNC football coach Bill Belichick about the attention that his program has gotten since his hire in December and how he plans to rebuild the Tar Heel football program. The question that we didn’t ask was about Jordon Hudson, his girlfriend, and creative muse,” Murphy said in the open of the unedited interview. “UNC asked that we keep questions to football. Here is our full unedited interview with Bill Belichick.”

Keeping it to questions about football is a little ironic, considering that’s what Belichick wanted with CBS earlier this month, promoting his book A Life in Football. But, when asked about how he and Hudson met, she promptly jumped in from off-camera, saying they wouldn’t discuss it. CBS maintained there were no prior conversations about limitations in the interview.

So it appears now that Belichick or North Carolina, or both, want many or any questions regarding the coach’s personal life. Belichick was asked multiple questions about Hudson in a SportsCenter interview with anchor Christine Williamson. That included some follow-ups on how he’s addressed the recent PR disaster with the team.

“Yeah, I mean, that’s, you know, really off to the side, it’s a personal relationship, and she doesn’t have anything to do with UNC football,” Belichick said on SportsCenter. “I’m excited to be back in the coaching meetings and getting ready for June, and then August, when we get to training camp. So June will be a big recruiting month for us, and then August will start getting ready for the season.”
