Report: Bill Belichick, North Carolina in discussions with PR specialist amid Jordon Hudson drama

The relationship between North Carolina Tar Heels head coach Bill Belichick and 24-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson has become very public. Now, it’s being reported that the school and legendary head coach are in discussions with a public relations specialist.

According to NBC Sports insider Mike Florio, Belichick has been in discussions with at least one PR specialist. That reportedly includes discussions with former Bears V.P. of communications Brandon Faber. Those conversations have been going on for a couple of months now, dating back before much of the recent drama surrounding Belichick’s relationship with Hudson. As of now, nothing has materialized between Belichick and the specialist, per Florio.

The PR job would reportedly be to work directly on North Carolina matters. However, the scope would go beyond that too, and assist Belichick with non-North Carolina-related issues.

There would be two basic goals of adding a PR specialist. The first would be to help promote Belichick’s new book, The Art of Winning: Lessons from My Life in Football. Then, it would also serve to help promote the North Carolina football program, which he took over following the 2024 season.

This comes as the scrutiny on Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson’s relationship has grown in the public eye, especially in light of a recent CBS interview about his book in which Hudson cut off questions about their relationship. Now, there has been tension growing from every angle. Publicly, sports media figures like Colin Cowherd have been critical, comparing the relationship to Bitcoin. Then, Netflix trolled the relationship in a skit on Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney and later Saturday Night Live got in on the action with their own skit joking about the relationship.

Outside of jokes, Hudson has seemingly had a lot of influence on Belichick off the field. That included reportedly forcing her way into a Super Bowl commercial. It was also recently revealed that Belichick asked for her to be on staff emails. On top of that, Hudson has seemingly taken on the role of publicist for Belichick, with it being reported she was his de facto agent.

North Carolina GM Michael Lombardi pressed on Jordon Hudson’s role with team, recruiting

Michael Lombardi, who worked alongside Bill Belichick in the NFL has been brought on to be North Carolina’s GM under Bill Belichick. Despite that, he’s not seemingly open to sharing what Jordon Hudson’s role is within the program.

Lombardi appeared on The Kirk Minihane Show, taking a call from the program. There, he was pressed about Hudson’s role with the team. However, he didn’t answer the question, instead laughing. Pressed again, Lombardi avoided answering, laughing and saying he was “in recruiting” and he was “working on that.” After that, Lombardi hung up the phone.

It remains to be seen if North Carolina or Bill Belichick hire an outside PR representative. However, it’s clear that the public scrutiny on his personal relationship has gone far beyond anyone anticipated.
