Watch: Former North Carolina Tar Heel shows off his afterburners at combine

Former North Carolina Tar Heels running back Ty Chandler just dropped one of the fastest 40-yard dash times of the running backs group.

On his first attempt of the night, Chandler put up a blazing 4.45 unofficial 40 yard dash time, as you see in the clip below.

It was the fastest of the group until Iowa State Cyclones running back Breece Hall beat him by one 100th of a second with a 4.44 time.

Chandler has a chance to jack up his draft stock in the combine with a solid showing. The one thing that could be causing him to fly under the radar is he has just one season, in college, of solid, consistent play. But the blame does not lie all on Chandler as he struggled to gain playing time for the Tennessee Volunteers in his four seasons there. But in that one season at North Carolina, Chandler put up impressive numbers across the board and set several career highs. He played in all 13 games for the Tar Heels rushing 182 times, for 1092 yards, and 13 touchdowns.

North Carolina offers offensive tackle from Virigina

Stafford (Va.) Colonial Forge three-star offensive tackle Nolan McConnell has picked up an offer from North Carolina.

McConnell is the No. 416 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

McConnell currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $8.2k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

The Tar Heels have one commit in their 2023 recruiting class in Cornelius (N.C.) William Amos Hough three-star quarterback Tad Hudson.
