With just weeks remaining until the Early Signing Period, the recruiting process is heating up all across the country. One of the programs to watch closely during this time is Notre Dame.

The Fighting Irish’s 2023 recruiting class is currently No. 3 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings. Mike Singer of Blue and Gold discussed the status of Notre Dame’s pledges, including Denton (Texas) Guyer five-star safety Peyton Bowen.

The Lone Star State native committed to Marcus Freeman‘s staff on New Year’s Day. But multiple programs, including Oklahoma, Oregon and Texas A&M are in pursuit of the 6-foot-0, 185-pound defensive back.

“I’m gonna say stick with the least confidence I’ve ever given on one of these before,” Singer said on The Inside Scoop, On3’s recruiting show.

Singer believes Notre Dame is in good position with multiple commits

Singer was more confident about other Fighting Irish commitments, including Austin (Texas) Westlake four-star wide receiver Jaden Greathouse and Derby (Kan.) four-star running back Dylan Edwards.

“He’s an Austin, Texas kid, so the Longhorns are obviously the school to keep an eye on,” Singer said about Greathouse. “Tons of family members have either attended or are big fans of the Longhorns, but he picked Notre Dame over Texas once before. He decided to go out to Las Vegas for the Notre Dame-BYU instead of the Red River Rivalry. So I’m gonna say Notre Dame.”

Edwards was once committed to Kansas State. But he decommitted from the Wildcats and chose the Fighting Irish less than two weeks after they offered him.

“There was a possibility he was gonna visit Kansas for their game against TCU a few weeks back, but didn’t even end up taking that visit,” Singer said. “He’s locked in with the Irish.”

Two other running backs are committed to Notre Dame in Saint Louis (Mo.) Christian Brothers College four-star Jeremiyah Love and Lake Stevens (Wash.) four-star Jayden Limar. Singer believes that Limar will stay in the Fighting Irish’s class, but is not counting out that he changes his mind.

“Jayden Limar, one of those West Coast kids, hasn’t visited Notre Dame a ton,” Limar said. “I believe he’s visited Oregon, Washington. He’s been to the Arizona schools. I think he’s going to stick, but he’s one that if he flipped, it would not surprise me. Notre Dame’s got three players committed who could all play running back, so if one of them were to flip, it wouldn’t be a surprise.”
