4-star Baylor QB commit Austin Novosad locks in Ohio State official visit

Dripping Springs (Texas) quarterback Austin Novosad has been committed to Baylor since December. But in the midst of a late push from Ohio State, the four-star passer has set up an official visit with the Buckeyes, On3’s Sam Spiegelman has confirmed.
Novosad is the No. 254 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 13 quarterback and the No. 46 player in the state of Texas.
He was named an Elite 11 Finalist in March and has quickly climbed Ohio State’s quarterback recruiting board in recent weeks. Novosad earned an offer from quarterbacks coach Corey Dennis a week ago when he came to Columbus for the team’s camp.

“Honestly, Coach Dennis came out to see my practice and loved the way I threw, so we planned the trip so Coach Day could watch and so that I could see the school,” Austin Novosad told Spiegelman last week. “I loved them both. Just after going through some of their quarterback drills, they both know a lot about the mechanics and a lot about the position.”
The 6-foot-3, 180-pounder remains committed to the Bears for now, but the Buckeyes are sure to turn up the heat even more as they try to land their 2023 quarterback.
