Brian Hartline is on the verge of landing another elite wideout, as there is a new leader in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine for one of the top receivers in the 2025 class.

Ohio State is now trending to land Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin four-star wide receiver Jaime Ffrench at 57.5% in the RPM. Ohio State recruiting insider Matt Parker logged an expert prediction in favor of the Buckeyes earlier this week with a 60% confidence level.

Ohio State has landed multiple blue-chip wideouts from Florida in recent cycles including Five-Star Plus+ wide receiver Jeremiah Smith and four-star wide receivers Brandon Inniss and Carnell Tate. Ffrench is certainly considering following them to the Buckeyes, who already have a wide receiver commit from Florida in their 2025 recruiting class in Cocoa (Fla.) four-star Jayvan Boggs.

“The tradition in the wide receiver room that (co-offensive coordinator/wide receivers) coach (Brian) Hartline has been able to build speaks for itself,” Ffrench told On3 in January. “What also stands out is the history behind Ohio State, what it means and the brotherhood there. They do a good job playing well. On the visits, I feel the love every time I’m there in Columbus.”

Ffrench is the nation’s No. 25 overall prospect and No. 5 wide receiver in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 4 prospect in the state of Florida.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Ffrench was a one-time Alabama commit who decommitted from the Tide days after the retirement of legendary head coach Nick Saban.

Ohio State Class Breakdown

Early in the 2025 cycle, defensive coordinator Jim Knowles and his staff have gotten busy. Of OSU’s eight commitments, five are on that side of the ball and three are in the secondary. Ohio State holds commitments from the nation’s top two cornerback recruits — Five-Star Plus+ CB Na’eem Offord and five-star corner Devin Sanchez. Their class also includes top-60 EDGE Zahir Mathis, top-70 cornerback Blake Woodby and in-state standout linebacker Eli Lee.

On the offensive side, OSU has already locked up its quarterback in the class with elite passer Tavien St. Clair, who ranks No. 4 nationally at the position. He’s joined by local four-star offensive tackle Carter Lowe and Cocoa (Fla.) four-star wide receiver Jayvan Boggs.
