South Carolina transfer DB Keenan Nelson Jr. commits to Ohio State

Former South Carolina Gamecocks defensive back Keenan Nelson Jr. has committed to join the Ohio State Buckeyes via the NCAA Transfer Portal, he announced on social media on Friday.
Over the past couple of seasons in Columbia, Nelson Jr. has played in a total of 15 games, starting four. Heās seen time at the safety and nickel positions in the secondary as well as on special teams. He will have three seasons of eligibility remaining at the college level.
Nelson Jr. played high school football at St. Josephās Prep School (PA), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 323 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to theĀ On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
āI would like to thank God for allowing me to play the game I love and giving me the ability to play this game,ā Nelson said on his social media account, when he originally entered the portal. āI would like thank Coach Beamer, Coach Gray, and the whole South Carolina coaching staff for taking me in and allowing me to play the game at a high level, Iāve learned a lot these last two years.ā
