Todd McShay is fired up over Ohio State duo of Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, makes bold prediction

Ohio State has not just one, but two potential first-round picks at receiver in Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave. With both players highly touted coming into last weekend’s NFL Combine, they looked to live up to those lofty expectations.
According to NFL draft analyst Todd McShay, not only did they do that, but Wilson surpassed them.
“I’ve got Garrett Wilson as my number 2 receiver and Chris Olave as my number 3,” McShay said in a recent TV appearance. “Those guys were outstanding. The interesting part is we knew going in that Olave was a burner and he ran a 4.39. That’s an excellent time and he had a great workout. But Garrett Wilson, some people were telling me he might be a low-4.5 guy. He came out and ran a faster time than Olave with a 4.38. To me, that cements Wilson as at least the No. 2 receiver in this draft, and I’m starting to think he could go above Drake London to become the No. 1 receiver. That’s gonna be interesting to see how that plays out.”
Both Wilson and Olave finished among the top half of receivers in the 40-yard dash Thursday. Wilson also posted a 36-inch vertical and a 10-foot, 3-inch broad jump. Those numbers, coupled with his college production, could make him a top 10 selection.
The dynamic pair teamed up to make Ohio State the top passing offense in the Big Ten — and third-best in the country — this past season. Wilson finished with 70 catches for 1,058 yards and 12 touchdowns, while Olave managed 65 receptions for 965 yards and 13 scores. The Buckeyes ended the year with an 11-2 record and trip to the Sugar Bowl, though both receivers opted out of that game.

McShay’s most recent mock draft had Wilson going 13th overall to the Cleveland Browns. Only USC receiver Drake London, slated to go ninth, was listed before him. London was not healthy enough to participate in the NFL Combine, but will hold his own Pro Day on April 5. McShay also predicted Olave to go 22nd overall to the Las Vegas Raiders.
Wilson and Olave will both get one more chance to impress scouts at Ohio State’s upcoming Pro Day, which scheduled for March 23. After that, they’ll hope for the best when the 2022 NFL draft kicks off April 28 in Las Vegas.
