WATCH: Ohio State freshman sensation Malaki Branham throws down tomahawk dunk
What a way to start a game for Ohio State.
In the second minute of the Buckeyes’ game against Indiana Thursday night, freshman Malaki Branham threw down a ferocious tomahawk dunk. It gave the Buckeyes an early 4-1 lead over the Hoosiers at Assembly Hall in Bloomington.
In his first season with the Buckeyes, Branham is averaging 8.9 points and 3.3 rebounds per game in 23.7 minutes per game. He’s coming off his biggest game of the year when he scored 35 points and grabbed six rebounds in Ohio State’s overtime win over Nebraska on Jan. 2.
He arrived at Ohio State this year as a four-star recruit and the top recruit in the state of Ohio, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
The Buckeyes are 9-2 overall and 3-0 in Big Ten play this season, only losing to Xavier and then-No. 23 Florida. Ohio State and Indiana are currently facing off on FS1.
