Class of 2025 EDGE Alexander Shieldnight of Wagoner (OK) High announced his commitment to Oklahoma Friday night.

The 6-foot-3, 230 pounder chose the Sooners over Texas Tech, Arkansas, and others.

“Oklahoma is somewhere I can genuinely see myself growing as a football player and person.”

His relationship with the coaching staff and their plan for him played a role in his decision as well.

“I have a great relationship with the whole staff at Oklahoma,” Shieldnight said. “Coach V, Chavis, and Bates! I’m blessed for the relationship I have grown into. I have a great chance to get on the field, on either side of the ball.”

The Sooner State EDGE joins coach Brent Venables and the Sooners’ top 10 2025 class. He is accompanied by four-star wide receiver Jaden Nickens, four-star wide receiver Elijah Thomas, and others.
