Former Kennesaw State TE Carson Kent commits to Oklahoma

Former Kennesaw State tight end Carson Kent committed to Oklahoma, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Sooner Scoop’s Bob Przybylo broke down what Kent could bring to the table for Oklahoma.
“And there ya go, OU fans. There is the tight end,” he wrote. “The Sooners needed at least one, and now that you’ve got Kent? That allows OU to breathe. And might give it freedom to try to find that second one as well. Kent had 18 catches for 217 yards and three touchdowns last season. It will still be intriguing to see if OU does anything else with the tight end room, but OU is on the board with the 6-foot-4, 240-pound sophomore.”
Carson Kent is heading to Oklahoma
Kent is now in the fold for Oklahoma as Brent Venables and prepare for a bowl game against Navy on December 27th. Not only are they preparing for a game, Venables has a message for targets in the portal.

“We want them to be healthy. Stay healthy. That’ll always help. This is a wonderful opportunity,” Venables said, regarding his message to transfer portal targets. “If, if we get a little better on offense, take care of the football, make layups that are there. Become a more explosive offense. You know, we’ve established our defense. We established ourselves in the kicking game, as being as good as anybody in the SEC, which will put you in a great position nationally, as well. We get that back to what it was a year ago, on offense, and the year before that, as a top five, top 10 offense in the country. If we get good, consistent quarterback play — and again, we’re, you know, respectful of that football, win the margin. Recruit players to that …
“Again, on the platform that Oklahoma has — this has been as good of a place offensively over a decade after decade after decade. I look at this year as an aberration. I’ve got a lot of guys that we’ve been talking to that look at it that way, as well.”
