On300 wide receiver Nicholas Anderson flips from Oregon to Oklahoma

Katy (Tex.) wide receiver Nicholas Anderson pledged his commitment to Oregon back in July. But he announced a change of heart on Monday. Instead of heading to Eugene, Anderson flipped his commitment to Oklahoma after visiting the Sooners this weekend.
His brother, Rodney, played running back for the Sooners from 2015-18. He amassed more than 1,500 all-purpose yards and 21 touchdowns in just 17 games.
Nicholas, the No. 193 prospect in the On3 Consensus rankings, gives the Sooners their 17th commitment of the 2022 class. In a tweet Monday afternoon, Anderson wrote: “I want to express my sincere gratitude to Oregon Football and the entire fan base for their treatement of me and my family throughout my recruitment process. Particualrly Coach Cristobal and Coach McClendon. That being said, after speaking with the staff personally, I have made them aware of my decision to de-commit from Oregon. I wish them the very best moving forward.
With that being said I’m excited to announce that I am committing to The University of Oklahoma. Boomer”

Nicholas Anderson fills holes left by Oklahoma’s former commits
Anderson’s commitment in a big one. And that’s in large part because of who the Sooners have lost at the wide receiver position in the 2022 class. Four-stars Tayln Shettron and Jordan Hudson, as well as five-star Luther Burden, were all committed to the Sooners at one point. But each of the three decommitted, with Shettron pledging to Oklahoma State, Hudson to SMU, and Burden to Missouri.
The Sooners still had a pair of four-star commits with Kaden Helms and Robert Spears-Jennings, but adding another talented pass-catcher in Lincoln Riley’s offense was paramount.
With Anderson’s commitment, Oklahoma moves up to No. 5 in the 2022 On3 Consensus team rankings, and the Sooners have the No. 1 class in the Big 12.
