2024 DL Jayden Jackson commits to Oklahoma Sooners

Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy three-star defensive tackle Jayden Jackson narrowed his list down to Oklahoma, Texas, Florida, Ohio State and Miami prior to his commitment.
He took official visits to each in June, and the Longhorns were considered to be the favorite to land him.
Oklahoma began surging earlier this week though, and on Thursday night he announced his commitment to the Sooners.
The 6-foot-1, 295-pound Jackson is the No. 489 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranks as the nation’s No. 47 defensive lineman and the No. 68 recruit in the state of Florida.
His commitment is the 13th for the Sooners this cycle and their second along the defensive line, with three-star EDGE Wyatt Gilmore joining the fold in late-June.

Jackson is another coveted addition for the Sooners’ 2024 class
Beating out the Hurricanes, Longhorns, Gators and Buckeyes is another big win for head coach Brent Venables and his staff after flipping four-star wide receiver Ivan Carreon from Texas Tech earlier this month.
The Sooners’ 2024 recruiting class currently ranks No. 16 in the 2024 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 8 in the SEC. The Sooners now up over a dozen commitments, including three from wide receivers in Carreon, Missouri City (Texas) Hightower four-star Zion Kearney and Franklinton (La.) three-star Kelly Daniels.
Other players pledged to Oklahoma include Lewisville (Texas) four-star safety Jaydan Hardy, Queen Creek (Ariz.) four-star cornerback Jeremiah Newcombe, McKinney (Texas) Frisco Emerson four-star quarterback Michael Hawkins and Fulton (Miss.) Itawamba Agricultural three-star offensive tackle Isaiah Autry.
