On Friday, former Mississippi State outfielder Nolan Stevens committed to Oklahoma via the NCAA Transfer Portal. Stevens announced his commitment with a post on X that oddly included a picture of man, who doesn’t appear to be him, posing with a deer he’d seemingly killed while hunting.

Oklahoma has had quite the day hunting in the transfer portal. Stevens is the Sooners’ third transfer commitment of the day, and he gives Sooners fans plenty to be excited about.

Stevens spent two seasons at Mississippi State. He saw action in 37 games in the 2025 campaign, posting a .320/.414/.500 slash line. In total, Stevens recorded six doubles, five home runs and 21 RBIs.

While Stevens spent most of his time in the field as an outfielder, he also started one game on the mound. In 2.1 innings pitched this past season, Stevens gave up two hits while recording two strikeouts. He also threw three walks.

After having a career day at LSU during his debut season, Stevens was named the SEC Freshman of the Week. Nolan Stevens played high school baseball at Franklin High School (CA), where he was the No. 69 overall player and No. 1 first baseman in the 2023 recruiting cycle, according to Perfect Game.

Now, Stevens will look to reach his potential at Oklahoma. He isn’t the only one looking to reach new heights with the Sooners.

Former Nebraska outfielder Cayden Brumbaugh committed to Oklahoma via the NCAA Transfer Portal on Friday, as well. He also announced the news with a post on X.

“Thank you Nebraska for everything, I will always cherish my time as a Husker. I am blessed and honored to spend my final year of eligibility back home at the University of Oklahoma. Excited to get to work #Boomer,” Brumbaugh wrote.

Brumbaugh spent three seasons at Nebraska, including a redshirt season in 2023. He posted a .309/.388/.451 slash line this season. Moreover, Brumbaugh tallied five home runs and 33 RBIs.

His statistics were all improved from his debut campaign at Nebraska. Before joining the Cornhuskers, Brumbaugh began his collegiate career at Oklahoma State, where he spent one season.

In his lone season at OSU, Brumbaugh made just 13 appearances. In 22 at-bats, Brumbaugh notched seven hits and one RBI. Brumbaugh boasts 148 career putouts compared to just seven errors for a .977 fielding percentage.

Cayden Brumbaugh played high school baseball at Santa Fe High School (OK). He was the No. 10 overall player and No. 4 shortstop in Oklahoma in the 2021 recruiting cycle, according to Perfect Game. In 2019, Brumbaugh led Santa Fe to the Class 6A state championship as a sophomore.
