Oklahoma poses with two SEC trophies after being named co-tournament champions with Texas A&M

Oklahoma will head back to Norman with an SEC Tournament trophy, just not in the fashion anybody expected. Poor weather led to Saturday’s championship game between the Sooners and Texas A&M being canceled with no plans to play in the future. Both teams were declared SEC Tournament champions, sharing the honor.
Also winning the SEC regular season title means the Sooners have earned two trophies this season thus far. Oklahoma took some time to pose with them, celebrating the accomplishment.
Players were wearing hats they would have received if the game against Texas A&M had taken place and eventually turned into a win. A screen in the background had “2025 SEC Tournament Champions” projected as well.
Given rain is coming down, the photo was taken indoors. You can check out the full scene here.
Winning both the regular season and tournament championships is nothing new for Patty Gasso’s team. They have now done so on five occasions dating back to 2017, four of which were while they were a member of the Big 12.
Oklahoma took care of business on Thursday against LSU before making history in Friday’s semifinal vs. Arkansas. A walk-off three-run home run meant the Sooners completed the largest comeback in SEC Tournament history to win 6-5.

Everyone wondered how OU would adapt to life in the SEC. Well, the questions have been answered quite quickly and silenced some of the doubters.
Oklahoma shares SEC Tournament championship with Texas A&M
The 2025 SEC softball tournament championship game between Oklahoma and Texas A&M has been canceled due to weather, the conference announced. First pitch was delayed more than 2.5 hours before commissioner Greg Sankey announced the cancellation and declared the two teams would be co-champions.
The title game between OU and Texas A&M was originally scheduled for 5 p.m. ET on Saturday before the conference shifted it to a 1 p.m. start time. However, rain entered the area Saturday morning and the tarp was still on the field at the expected time of first pitch.
The coaches for both teams eventually met for a long period of time behind home plate at Jack Turner Stadium. Ultimately, the league made the decision not to play the game. Oklahoma gets the SEC’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament as the regular-season champion, but both teams will appear in the bracket during Sunday’s reveal show.
