Oklahoma DB Robert Spears-Jennings left Saturday’s game against Missouri in the second quarter with an injury. He nearly made an intercepted Beau Pribula before hitting the ground, and he later headed to the injury tent during the commercial break.

Spears-Jennings had a brace on his shoulder to start Saturday’s game, according to the ABC broadcast. He attempted to walk the injury off on the sideline before going into the tent.

Spears-Jennings entered Saturday’s game against Missouri with the third-most tackles on the Oklahoma roster with 48, including a tackle for loss. He also has an interception to his name as he leads the OU secondary.

Throughout the last three years, Robert Spears-Jennings has been an anchor of the Oklahoma defense. Since taking on a more prominent role in 2023, he has 152 total tackles, including 7 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks, as well as two interceptions. He also has five forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries during that time.

Oklahoma’s defense is dealing with a slew of injuries as the Sooners take on Missouri in Norman. R Mason Thomas is out for the game as he continues to deal with a quad issue, and cornerback Gentry Williams is also out due to injury.

Oklahoma entered Saturday’s game looking to further seal its College Football Playoff resume after getting a big-time win over Alabama a week ago. The Sooners jumped up to No. 8. in the latest rankings, putting them in position to host a first-round game in the projected 12-team bracket.

However, SEC Network’s Jordan Rodgers said Saturday won’t necessarily be easy for Oklahoma. He put the Sooners on Upset Alert as Mizzou came to town.

“I think they are,” Rodgers said. “Because although it was a massive win like you mentioned, the offense didn’t leave anything to be hopeful for Sooner fans. They didn’t have a play that went longer than 22 yards. They didn’t push the ball downfield at all, and this Missouri team just put up 300 yards on, albeit, a bad Mississippi State defense. Ahmad Hardy went for 300 yards on the ground, though. And it’s not like this Missouri team is pushing people around, that shouldn’t worry you.

“It’s that Ahmad Hardy can’t be tackled. His comeback, his vision, and his ability to break tackles against an Oklahoma defense (that is overly aggressive) that will at times take risks and get out of gaps. That would be a concern for me if I’m an Oklahoma fan. Missouri could be a sneaky team and a wildcard to look out for. Beau Pribula, starting quarterback, is trending towards being healthy.
