Troy Everrett injury update: Brent Venables reveals season-ending injury
Oklahoma head coach Brent Venables announced on Wednesday that offensive lineman Troy Everett will miss the remainder of the season with a season-ending injury.
Everett, who transferred from Appalachian State prior to the 2023 season, has played in 18 games for the Sooners over the past three seasons. He was named to SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll last season.
“He had a season-ending injury a week ago last Tuesday,” Venables said. “I hate that for him. It’s just devastating. Same injury with the other knee he had a little over a year ago. He was having a really good year and he’s a great leader. He’ll have to lead in a different type of way and I’m hurt for him with all the pain and sacrifice that he’s been through. But he’s really tough and he’ll move on and forward. He’ll find another way to use all the leadership qualities that he has to help us.”

He played in OU’s season opener against Illinois State but was inactive in the Sooners’ next two games against No. 15 Michigan and Temple (both wins). No. 11 Oklahoma is 3-0 and is headed into a ranked matchup against No. 22 Auburn this weekend.
Dating back to 2015, Oklahoma is 25-13 in top-25 clashes. This game will however hit even more close to home, as former Sooner quarterback Jackson Arnold is leading the Auburn offense. Arnold transferred from the program this offseason and has led the Tigers to early season victories over Baylor, Ball State and South Alabama.
