Kollin Ritchie has been everywhere for Oklahoma State this Sunday in Regional play of the NCAA Baseball Tournament. The Cowboys sophomore was a big hero in their earlier win against Georgia as he hit the game-tying home run and again came up big in a contest against Duke later Sunday evening.

Ritchie connected on a two-run shot in the top of the fourth inning vs. the Blue Devils to put OSU on top 2-0. But he wasn’t done there as he would later help the Cowboys preserve it in the bottom of that inning.

Tyler Albright was up to bat for Duke and hit a ball that went to deep center field and looked like it had a chance to be out of the park. But Ritchie sprinted out of nowhere to track down the ball and leapt up against the fence to snag the ball and secure the out. That kept Oklahoma State leading 2-0 and you can view both plays below.

The home run for Ritchie marked his fifth of Regional play, which began Friday. Two of those came in a win against Binghamton on Saturday as the Cowboys avoided being eliminated.

Overall on the season, Ritchie has 14 home runs and is fourth on the team with a .283 batting average. He is in his second year in Stillwater out of Atoka (OK) High School and has clearly become a pivotal member of the team.

OSU is looking to keep its season alive after knocking out the Regional host Bulldogs earlier in the day. The Cowboys were one of the last four teams to make the tournament after finishing with a 30-24 record this season.

So far the defense has continued to hold strong as Oklahoma State still leads 2-0 in the top of the eighth inning. If they can hang on for the win it would force a winner-take-all rematch against the Blue Devils on Monday.
