Nebraska offensive lineman Grant Seagren commits to transfer to Oklahoma State

Nebraska Cornhuskers offensive lineman Grant Seagren has committed to transfer to the Oklahoma State Cowboys, per On3’s Pete Nakos. He has three seasons of eligibility remaining.
Seagren played his high school football at Oakland-Craig in Nebraska. There, he was an unranked recruit before going to Nebraska. While with the Cornhuskers, Seagren took a redshirt in 2023 before going on to play in seven games during the 2024 season. He’s also been Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll twice, Academic All-Big Ten, and was twice named to the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.
During the two seasons that Seagren spent with Nebraska, the Cornhuskers went a combined 12-13. That included making the Pinstripe Bowl and winning it in 2024, ending the team’s bowl drought. Still, there’s been room for improvement at Nebraska along the offensive line. In 2024, the Cornhuskers ranked 96th in rushing offense with 130.62 yards per game. They also finished 78th in sacks allowed, giving up 2.15 per game. Neither of those stats is entirely on the shoulders of the offensive line, but there has been room for growth.
Now, Seagren is on the move to Oklahoma State. There, he will play for Mike Gundy, who has led the Cowboys program since 2005. However, Oklahoma State is also coming off its worst season by record since Gundy took over the program and just their second losing season after going 3-9 in 2024.

That difficult season led to several coaching changes at Oklahoma State. That includes at offensive coordinator with Doug Meacham taking over. He played along the offensive line for Oklahoma State in his playing days, though he hasn’t worked as an offensive line coach since 2004. Cooper Bassett, meanwhile, is taking over as the new offensive line coach at Oklahoma State.
Gundy has been looking to address some of Oklahoma State’s issues through the Transfer Portal as well. The Cowboys have the 31st-ranked transfer class in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 College Football Team Transfer Portal Rankings. That includes 26 players who have left the program and another 38 players who have entered it. Among those players entering the program, four offensive linemen, not including Seagren, have transferred to Oklahoma State.
