Oklahoma State kicker Gabe Panikowski intends to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, he revealed on X/Twitter Thursday afternoon. He made 15/15 field goals and was 44/47 on extra points last season for Idaho State.

Panikowski is the 10th Oklahoma State player to hit the Transfer Portal since long-time head coach Mike Gundy was fired on Sept. 23. The transfer portal opened for Oklahoma State players after that move.

“My name is Gabe Panikowski, and I will be entering my name into the transfer portal,” he wrote in a statement. “With this decision, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Oklahoma State University for the invaluable opportunities and experiences that have shaped me both athletically and academically. I am deeply thankful to the coaching staff for their leadership, my teammates for their unwavering camaraderie, and the OSU community for its steadfast support.”

“Representing the Cowboys has been an immense honor, and the lessons and memories I have gained here will remain with me throughout my life. Although I look forward to the next chapter in my journey, I leave Oklahoma State with profound respect, pride, and appreciation.”

Panikowski was Idaho State‘s kicker last season, but he did not see game action for Oklahoma State in 2025. Senior kicker Logan Ward earned the job out of training camp and is 10/12 on field goals and 9-9 on extra points this season.

Oklahoma State’s Transfer Departures

Oklahoma State offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach Doug Meacham is serving as the team’s interim coach. The Cowboys are 0-3 under Meacham’s guidance, with losses to Baylor, Arizona and Houston. However, in Oklahoma State’s Week 5 loss to Baylor, the Cowboys posted a season-high 448 yards of total offense.

“It’s a testament to Mike building a culture here, picking the right kind of guys that will fight through adversity and come together as a team, and I think that I was really impressed with that part,” Meacham said after that game. “Had a lot of fun. They were having fun. That’s really what it’s all about.”
