Ollie Gordon taken to injury tent after making tackle vs. UCF

Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon is headed to the injury tent in the first half of Saturday’s game against UCF. Gordon made a tackle after Cowboys quarterback Alan Bowman threw an interception and appeared to be shaken up on the play as he got up holding his arm.
He was later seen jogging off the field for trainers to take a closer look at what’s wrong. Thankfully, the injury didn’t appear to be one of serious nature as Gordon returned to the field on Oklahoma State’s next offensive drive.
The running back entered the game on a tear with six straight games of at least 100 yards rushing. That has allowed him to lead the country with 1,225 yards rushing in addition to 12 touchdowns.
However, Gordon’s production has not been up to par so far in this game. He has just six carried for only nine yards with 8:52 currently remaining in the second quarter. As a result, the Cowboys are currently trailing UCF by a score of 24-0.
Things have been off for Gordon since the opening drive when he coughed up a fumble at the UCF 43-yard line. The Knights recovered and went on to score their second touchdown of the game to go up 14-0 early in the first quarter.

We’ll see whether the Cowboys can get things going on offense and close the gap before the first half ends, but it’s not looking good so far. OSU has never overcome a deficit this large in the career of Mike Gundy.
Ollie Gordon held under 50 yards as Oklahoma State falls to UCF
Things wouldn’t get much better for Ollie Gordon and the Oklahoma State offense in the second half. The Cowboys at least managed to get on the board with a field goal, but that would be all they could muster on their way to a 45-3 loss.
Gordon finished the game with just 25 yards rushing, his lowest total since Week 3 against South Alabama when he carried the ball only three times. He wasn’t the only issue, however, as quarterback Alan Bowman threw for three interceptions in the loss.
The loss for Oklahoma State snaps a five-game winning streak for a team that was riding high after a 27-24 Bedlam win this past week.
