Oklahoma State tight end Quinton Stewart has been carted off the field after suffering an apparent lower body injury against Oregon. Stewart was able to limp off to the sideline before being taken back to the locker room, where he will receive X-Rays per the CBS broadcast.

Stewart looked to get his right leg caught up while being tackled on the previous play. He also ran into Cowboys quarterback Zane Flores as he fell to the ground. It’s unclear at this time the nature of his injuries.

“Just saw Stewart getting carted off the field there,” CBS sideline reporter Jenny Dell said. “Ran into the back of his leg. He came out of the injury tent with the shoe off his right foot. I’ll update you as soon as I have more info.”

Dell reported shortly after that Sewart had been ruled out for the remainder of the game after rolling his ankle. Stewart is the longest tenured player on OSU’s roster as the last remaining member from the 2020 recruiting class.

Stewart had played in 39 games across his career in Stillwater entering this season. He made most of his contributions on special teams.

With Stewart out, Josh Ford, Oscar Hammond and Will Monney are the remaining tight ends available for the Cowboys. As of this writing, OSU currently trails 34-3 with 5:46 remaining in the first half.

Mike Gundy’s son, Gavin, calls out Oklahoma State reporter in defense of his father

Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy has taken a lot of heat on social media after an embarrassing 69-3 loss against No. 6 Oregon on Saturday. But his son, Gavin, came to his defense.

With many Cowboys alums venting their frustrations, Gavin Gundy couldn’t stay silent. He quoted a post on X from OSU alum and co-host of the Pistols Firing podcast Carson Cunningham, who tweeted in the first quarter his disappointment in the Cowboys’ performance after they went down 13-0 within the first two minutes of the game.

“Imagine being this pathetic,” Gavin Gundy wrote. “You will never understand the size of balls it takes to do what he does… and how Oklahoma State would be completely irrelevant without him. So you can sit there and tweet all you want but you will never know what it takes to be successful in life.”

The loss for the Cowboys was one of their worst in program history. The 66-point margin of defeat trailed only a 67-0 loss to Oklahoma in 1907 and a 75-0 loss to the Sooners in 1904.

It’s been an abysmal past year for Oklahoma State, which finished 3-9 last season for its worst record in Mike Gundy’s tenure. Yet Gavin Gundy remained steadfast in his opinion that the program would not be where it is today without his father.

“Mike Gundy IS Oklahoma State football,” Gavin Gundy continued. “Period. As QB, he set records in the Barry Sanders era. As coach, he stacked 160+ wins, 19 straight bowls, a Big 12 title, two Fiesta Bowls, multiple Top-10 finishes, & sent dudes to the NFL year after year. He’s the winningest coach in OSU history & the most important name this program has EVER had. Without him, you’d have nothing to brag about, nothing to watch, nothing to cry about.”
