Top-25 recruit Cam Scott sets official visit with Oregon

One of the top shooting guards in the class of 2024, Cam Scott, will take an official visit to Oregon beginning June 1st. The Ducks are the newest school to get involved with the 6-foot-5 four-star recruit out of Lexington (S.C.) High.
This marks the fourth official visit for Scott. He’s also visited South Carolina, Auburn, and Texas officially. Alabama has also been involved as of lately.
Scott ranks as the No. 22 overall player in the class of 2024 according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the nation’s No. 4 shooting guard and the No. 1 player in South Carolina.
Scouting Report
“Cam Scott is a lengthy wing prospect with a lot of pop. The natural tools are very impressive all the way around. Scott has a mature game, plays within the flow of the offense, rarely forces things. The jump shot release can be cleaned up a little, but the pull-up is smooth. Since the summer, Scott has developed his footwork and handle in the half-court, creating space to elevate into his jumper. Scott can take over a game carry his team. Would like to see him develop the comfort to take a more aggressive, alpha role on his teams. He is very efficient in his game, his ability to score with a less is more approach is mature. Strength will come, and he is tracking as one of the top players in the 2024 class.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw
Cam Scott talks other college recruitment
In a previous interview with On3, Scott broke down several of the schools involved in his recruitment.
Texas: “Coach RT (Rodney Terry), him being there when I got off the plane, greeting me with big open arms and a big smile. You know, he is one of those people who can change the environment of an entire room. His getting that job is a big step up for him and a big step up for the Texas community. Losing their coach and him coming in and still being able to take them on a run in the tournament, he made his mark on the community.”

Auburn: “I love Auburn. I’m not even going to lie to you. Being down there, it was a really comfortable environment. Talking with the coaches, they’re all friendly. Some of the players getting recruited by them are already hitting me up, guys who are already committed, telling me Auburn is the place. I get probably three of four DMs a day telling me to go to Auburn.
Alabama: “They’ve been around for a while, but just picking and choosing times to talk. But recently, they’ve picked it up a lot. They had a coach come by my school this week to come and talk to me. Coach (Nate) Oats says he is looking forward to me getting down to Tuscaloosa to see what that is like.
“Seeing all the players they have had, all the league players, that is interesting. I just want to see what that is like.”
South Carolina: “South Carolina is like 25 minutes from my home. That would be a big impact for me. It would be really meaningful to have a lot of people I know coming to my games and supporting me. That is something I would be interested in. I talked with coach (Lamont) Paris right before I got down here; he was telling me to lock in.
“They did a lot for GG (Jackson), so I’m thinking I could be somewhere in that same area.”
