Dante Moore injury update: Dan Lanning reveals severity of bloody nose, outlook

Oregon quarterback Dante Moore was knocked out of a 21-7 win over Wisconsin on Saturday night, with the Ducks leading just 7-0 at the time. His team would go on to secure the victory, but everyone’s thoughts immediately went to the star quarterback.
Luckily, he appears to be fine. Coach Dan Lanning provided an update on the quarterback after the game.
“I think we could have pushed to get him back in, but he’s going to be good,” Lanning said. “He got a bloody nose. He got hit pretty good. He looks like he’s in great shape now.”
The hit on Dante Moore certainly appeared innocuous enough at the time, but the subsequent happenings were more than a little concerning. Moore appeared to get hit through his facemask.
As he took off his helmet and put his hand to his face, his glove came away covered in blood. He was gushing from the nose.
He immediately exited the game and did not return. At the time of his departure, Dante Moore was 9-of-15 passing for 86 yards. He had not thrown a touchdown or an interception in the contest, while he had rushed four times for a loss of 13 yards. Moore had been sacked twice in the contest.

His backup, Brock Thomas, came in and played relatively well. He wasn’t asked to do too much, as Oregon leaned on the ground game to get it through the contest in the rain.
The Ducks ran the ball 45 times for 203 yards and two touchdowns, while Thomas accounted for a third touchdown with his arm. The backup finished 4-of-4 passing for 46 yards and a touchdown.
Dante Moore has been having an excellent season for the Ducks and remains one of the favorites in the Heisman Trophy race. He has gone 136-of-188 passing for 1,686 yards, with 19 touchdowns against just four interceptions.
Prior to enrolling at Oregon, Moore spent the 2023 season at UCLA. He was a prized recruit out of high school, checking in as the No. 3 overall recruit in the 2023 class. He was a five-star prospect.
