While uniforms are a hot topic for just about every team in college football, few programs command the kind of attention on that front that Oregon does. The Ducks are known for breaking out unique gear combinations, and that trend will continue on Saturday against Penn State.

On Sunday afternoon, Oregon teased new cleats for the game against Penn State. They are called the Nike Mummy Duck Vaporposite cleat.

The program unveiled the new cleats with a slick video, featuring a Dune-like background. From the dunes emerged a pair of white cleats as the wind blew away the individual grains of sand to reveal the sleek kicks.

But there’s a twist, too. The cleats appear to be glow-in-the-dark.

That could provide a unique showing at Penn State, where the Nittany Lions are hosting a White-Out and expecting to set the tone that way. When the lights dim, Oregon will still shine. Or, at least, its footwear will. You can check it out below.

Oregon vs. Penn State Preview

This matchup will be contested between two of the very best teams the country has to offer — not to mention it’s also the rematch of 2024’s Big Ten Championship game.

The Ducks would outlast the Nittany Lions 45-37 during that contest, earning the No. 1 overall seed in the College Football Playoffs last season. Penn State would also make the CFP’s field of 12, making it one game shy of playing for the national championship. Both teams figure to be right back in the mix this season.

Saturday’s matchup will serve as the Big Ten Conference opener of the Nittany Lions. However, the Ducks have already had their conference opener, which came against Northwestern during Week 3. Oregon defeated the Wildcats 34-14 after scoring the first 34 points of the matchup.

They’ll hope to have a similar showing on the road in Happy Valley. However, that’s easier said than done against Penn State and its rowdy faithful inside Beaver Stadium.
