Oregon’s recruiting class is top 10 no more.

With the news that five-star offensive tackle Kelvin Banks has decommitted from the Ducks, Oregon’s class fell out of the top 10 in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings.

The loss – a major setback on the recruiting trail after Mario Cristobal announced he was leaving for Miami – dropped the Oregon class two spots to No. 11 overall.

The decommitment pushes Oklahoma into the No. 10 spot. The Sooners seemingly have new momentum on the recruiting trail after Brent Venables was hired on Sunday. Florida State remained at No. 12 overall.

Updated On3 Consensus top 10 ranking:

  1. Georgia
  2. Alabama
  3. Texas A&M
  4. Ohio State
  5. Notre Dame
  6. Penn State
  7. North Carolina
  8. Texas
  9. Clemson
  10. Oklahoma

More decommitments on way for Oregon?

Even before Monday’s developments, Kelvin Banks’ commitment to the Ducks was in limbo for quite some time, On3 National Recruiting Analyst Gerry Hamilton reported.

Despite saying as recently as last week that he was “solid” with his Oregon pledge, there’s been pressure on him to stay closer to family in Texas.

Kelvin Banks is the third known decommitment for Oregon.

Gordo (Ala.) High four-star quarterback Tanner Bailey announced Monday morning that he had decommitted from Oregon. Bailey was the first prospect to officially do so since news broke that Cristobal was leaving.

Bailey is the No. 339 prospect in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 20 quarterback and the No. 16 prospect in Alabama.

Montogermy (Ala.) Catholic Prep four-star linebacker T.J. Dudley also announced on Monday his decommitment from Oregon.

A number of Oregon commits reacted to the news of Cristobal’s departure. And sources tell Hamilton that at least one more prospect is expected to decommit soon, but all indications that number will grow over the next 24 hours.
