Pittsburgh offers 2024 On3 3-star LB Elijah Newby

Cheshire (Conn.) Cheshire Academy three-star linebacker Elijah Newby received an offer from Pittsburgh on Wednesday. He announced the news over social media.

Newby is not ranked in the 2024 On3 Consensus. However, On3 rates him higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison.

Even though he is not ranked in the 2024 On300, Newby is the No. 38 linebacker in the country. He is also the No. 3 player in Connecticut.

The 6-foot-4, 190-pound defender holds nine offers. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Boston College has a commanding lead for his commitment at 87.1%.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college. 

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

The Panthers’ 2024 recruiting class contains three players. They are Melbourne (Fla.) Cocoa four-star wide receiver DayDay Farmer, Philadelphia Imhotep Institute three-star defensive lineman Jahsear Whittington and York (Penn.) Central York running back Juelz Goff.

Newby has an On3 NIL Valuation of $5.8K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
