Three-Star C Eli Delaurier commits to Providence, reclasses to 2023

Eli Delaurier, a three-star center, has committed to Providence. The 6-foot-9 center will also be reclassifying from the 2024 class into 2023.
Earlier this year, Delaurier announced a top three schools of Mississippi State, Texas A&M, and Virginia Tech. He played his junior season at Charlottesville (Va.) Miller School, but recently announced he would be attending Atlanta (Ga.) Overtime Elite for his senior season.
After a course correction, Delaurier will be bypassing his senior year and joining the Friars for the upcoming season.
“They made me feel at home,” Delaurier said of Providence. “The coaching staff really made an impact on me and my family.”

The big man added, “I may be a little late, but I’m here to work.”
According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Delaurier is the No. 163 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle. The On3 Industry Ranking is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
His ranking will now be re-evaluated now that he has joined the 2023 class.
Delaurier Scouting Report
“Eli Delaurier has good length with a very projectable frame,” On3’s Jamie Shaw writes. “He is a sneaky athlete. Can knock down a spot three, either in pick and pop situations or as a trail big. He plays with an excellent motor, almost like a bull in a china shop. You want to get a little more fluid in his movements, and the wonder is how he will move laterally. Delaurier is a good area rebounder and not afraid to stick his nose in there and battle around the basket. He comes from a basketball family with a high major mom and two D-I brothers. All reports are how hard of a worker he is.”
