4-star QB Marcos Davila commits to Purdue

Midland (Texas) Lee four-star quarterback Marcos Davila has announced his commitment to Purdue. He chose the Boilermakers after backing off his pledge to TCU on Feb. 22.
Davila is the No. 363 overall prospect and No. 23 quarterback in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 59 player in Texas.
On3 ranks Davila higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2024 On300, Davila is the No. 245 overall prospect, No. 14 quarterback and the No. 47 player in Texas.
Davila, who visited West Lafayette this past weekend, is now the third member of the Boilermakers’ 2024 recruiting class. The others are Indianapolis (Ind.) Franklin Central three-star cornerback Hudauri Hines and Fort Wayne (Ind.) North Side three-star offensive tackle Jordan King.

“I’ve stayed in contact with Coach (Graham) Harrell and we’re pretty tight,” Davila told On3’s Sam Spiegelman on Feb. 27. “Me, Graham, (Cory) Patterson, (Seth) Doege — they’re my guys. They’ve really supported me through everything. They’ve been there for me since they were at West Virginia. I’m close with them and ready to get up there and see what the place is like.”

“The Big Ten is a great conference and I think that style offense will dominate in the Big Ten,” he added. “Them going into the Big Ten, throwing the rock around with Hudson Card there, their offensive style is gonna give some Big Ten defenses problems.”
Purdue received Davila’s only visit following his decommitment. Meanwhile, he has also seen multiple ACC and Big 12 programs, according to the On3 Visit Center.
A 6-foot-3, 205-pound signal-caller, Davila has an On3 NIL Valuation of $56K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
