Purdue takes to Twitter to troll Iowa after upset win

After beating No. 2 Iowa 24-7, Purdue wasted no time trolling their divisional foe.
The Boilermakers scored 17 unanswered points to spoil Iowa’s perfect season, and while one-loss teams make the College Football Playoff each year, the Hawkeyes path to the national championship just became significantly more difficult.
Purdue’s last road win against a top-two opponent came in 1974 at Notre Dame Stadium. They now have nine total wins over top-two teams, more than double anyone else in the country all-time.
Wide receiver David Bell had a career day, catching 11 passes for 240 yards and a touchdown.
The Purdue defense, allowing a third-best 299.6 yards per game entering Saturday’s contest, held strong against the Hawkeyes. Iowa had 271 yards of total offense, and Purdue picked off Iowa quarterback Spencer Petras four times. Three of the interceptions came on Iowa’s final three drives of the game. Cam Allen had two picks after recording just one all season to date.

With the win, Purdue moves to 4-2 on the season and 1-1 in the Big Ten. They face Wisconsin at home next weekend, and they still have dates with Michigan State and Ohio State on the schedule.
Purdue successfully played quarterback roulette
Quarterback Aidan O’Connell topped his 371-yard performance last week, throwing for 375 yards and two touchdowns. He took the majority of the snaps, but Purdue played two additional quarterbacks, primarily in run situations.
Jack Plummer, who was the main quarterback in Purdue’s first four games, was 1-for-2 with three yards and five carries for 20 yards. Senior Austin Burton did not complete a pass, but he had three carries for 10 yards.
Perhaps most importantly for Purdue, the quarterbacks took care of the football, avoiding throwing interceptions. Iowa has 16 interceptions this season, the most in the FBS by four picks. They entered Saturday’s game with a +20 turnover margin.
