Kirk Herbstreit, others praise Shane Beamer for recent video speech

A video tweeted out by the South Carolina Gamecocks recently went viral. Since then, head coach Shane Beamer has been praised by people around college football, including ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit.
The video, captioned “A big part of our ‘why’ that we won’t forget,” shows the South Carolina football team walking to the stadium. There, Shane Beamer gave a speech to the Gamecocks team explaining who they’re playing for–the fans who climb to the top of the stadium.
The video was immediately praised by people who appreciated Shane Beamer’s message. That included Kirk Herbstreit.
“My man! Great message brother,” Kirk Herbstreit tweeted in response to the video.
Kirk Herbstreit wasn’t the only ESPN analyst to praise the video, though. Among the others was Chris Low, a writer who grew up in South Carolina also responded to the video on Twitter.

“It costs a ton for your average fan to go see a college football game these days. A lot of families simply can’t afford it. This is terrific from @CoachSBeamer,” Chris Low tweeted.
Kirk Herbstreit is going to call NFL games
As an analyst, Kirk Herbstreit is known for calling college football games. Now, he’s going to have the opportunity to call NFL games too. Alongside Al Michaels, he will act as the analyst on Thursday Night Football broadcasts. This won’t impact his ability to call college games and is an opportunity that Herbstreit is excited about.
“So I do think that having a primetime game on a Thursday night, I do think it’s going to have similar kind of juice or energy that I get when I watch college football.” Kirk Herbstreit said.
