Nyck Harbor, Dylan Stewart injury updates: Shane Beamer provides update on availability vs. Clemson

South Carolina played a tune-up game against Coastal Carolina on Saturday and did so without two of its stars. Receiver Nyck Harbor and pass-rusher Dylan Stewart both missed the contest.
The absences were mostly precautionary, allowing them an extra week to get right ahead of the Palmetto Bowl against Clemson. Coach Shane Beamer discussed both injuries after the game.
“Nyck and Dylan should be good for next week,” Beamer said. “Nyck was not able to go tonight, not totally cleared. He ran the other day and ran fast the other day, so we’re hopeful that he’ll be fine for next Saturday.”
Nyck Harbor, of course, was coming off one of the best games of his career. He tallied 102 yards receiving and a touchdown against Texas A&M before he was hurt.
He also led the team entering this week’s game against Coastal Carolina. He’d notched a team best 24 catches for 503 yards and five touchdowns going into the game.

Dylan Stewart, who also missed the game alongside Nyck Harbor, was also a key absence on the afternoon. He led the team with 12 tackles for a loss and 4.5 sacks entering the weekend.
“Dylan kind of had something aggravating him that was the question mark before the Ole Miss game when we had him questionable on the injury report the Friday night before the game,” Beamer explained. “He practiced in a limited role this week but just didn’t feel quite able to go. But I think he’ll be fine for Saturday.”
Those updates are certainly good news for South Carolina, which could use the explosive version of Nyck Harbor that showed up against Texas A&M. Harbor has slowly rounded into form during the course of his career.
But if South Carolina was missing the star wideout, it didn’t really show on Saturday. The team piled up 315 passing yards and 10 different receivers caught passes in the 51-7 win over the Chanticleers.
