Shane Beamer claims Heisman voters not voting LaNorris Sellers are 'out of your minds'

South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers refused to let the Gamecocks lose Saturday at Clemson. The redshirt freshman rushed for 166 yards and two touchdowns to lead South Carolina to a 17-14 win.
Sellers was in trouble time-and-time again, but he continued to find a way out of it. His biggest play of the game came late in the fourth quarter as he scrambled for a 20-yard touchdown on third-and-16 to give South Carolina the lead. After the game, Gamecocks coach Shane Beamer made the case for LaNorris Sellers to win the Heisman Trophy.
“LaNorris Sellers is the best player in the country,” Shane Beamer said. “And all you media people who vote on the Heisman, if you’re not voting for that guy in the midst of the Heisman Trophy you’re out of your minds.
“Like name a player in the country that’s done more than that kid has this year, particularly today. In the environments that he’s done it in, in the moments that he’s done it in. I mean he put our team on his back today. … What a performance to third-and-forever down there on that last drive and him to do what he did. He’s special.”

LaNorris Sellers also completed 13 of 21 passes for 164 yards and an interception. But it was the rushing of Sellers that gave Clemson issues all afternoon.
Clemson coach Dabo Swinney also had plenty of praise for Sellers after the game.
“He made two of the greatest runs you’re ever going to see,” Swinney said. “There’s just a couple of times we had him… and he just escaped. And you saw that on tape. He’s won a couple of games for them. … He’s fast, he’s strong. He’s a competitive guy. He was just a little bit better on a couple of those plays. That was the difference in the game.”
LaNorris Sellers has now led South Carolina to six straight wins after a 3-3 start. The Gamecocks were No. 15 in the College Football Playoff rankings last week. It will be interesting to see where they are now.
