Malick Diallo injury update: TCU center to miss 2025-26 season with torn ACL

TCU center Malick Diallo is expected to miss the 2025-26 season with a torn ACL, per Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports. Diallo suffered the injury in Monday’s season opener against New Orleans, which the Horned Frog ended up losing 78-74.
The center played only seven minutes prior to suffering the injury and exiting the game. He was set to begin his sophomore season in Fort Worth and now will likely take a medical redshirt and maintain three seasons of eligibility moving forward.
Diallo is coming off of a freshman season in which he played 29 games. He came off the bench to average 2.2 points and 2.7 rebounds across 10.9 minutes per game.
A native of Bamako, Mali, Diallo came to the states to attend Wasatch Academy (UT) for high school, where he was a three-star recruit. He ranked as the No. 173 overall player and No. 25 center in the 2024 cycle according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, an equally weighted average that utilizes all three major recruiting services.

Micah Robinson and Xavier Edmonds both stepped up to play more than 20 minutes each off the bench Monday in light of Diallo’s injury. Robinson pitched in 14 points and six rebounds while Edmonds added 11 points of his own.
With Monday’s loss and now the news that Diallo will be sidelined for the remainder of the year, it’s been a brutal start to the season for TCU. The Horned Frogs will hope to start building some positive momentum in their next game against Saint Francis on Thursday.
