Peyton Manning escorts Dolly Parton onto the field to sing Rocky Top with band

No. 18 Tennessee is hosting No. 1 Georgia in a major game on Saturday, and the Volunteers have broken out all the stops to try to help, including getting Dolly Parton into the stadium.
Well, not only getting her there, but getting her involved.
Escorted by Peyton Manning, Parton took the field in between the action on Saturday and sang “Rocky Top,” giving the fans plenty to cheer for. Check it out below.
Parton then joined CBS sideline reporter Jenny Dell to discuss the afternoon’s festivities.
“Well it was great, only I couldn’t hear because my sound went out and the stadium was so loud,” Parton said. “I couldn’t even hear it to sing Rocky Top, but I was so honored to be here. And I love Peyton and I love the crowd, so it’s just good to be home always.”
Parton, of course, is a legend in the state of Tennessee, hailing from Pittman Center, Tenn.
“It’s always great to be home and of course, you’re right, it’s not far from here up in Sevier County, Tennessee,” Dolly Parton said. “Of course I’ve got a lot of family still here and a whole lot of friends, and we love you too. So we’re always excited when we get to come home, especially for a ball game.”

As far as the game itself, Tennessee trailed Georgia 17-7 midway through the second quarter, so there’s work to be done on the rallying front from Parton.
Of course, she’s also looking to rile up some fans who might enjoy her latest album. She opened up on what went into that album.
“They put me in that danged Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and I thought I’ve got to do something to earn that, I’ve got to do a rock album,” Dolly Parton said. “So that’s what we did. We had a new package here for the UT fans, just for the rock album. And then they actually put Rocky Top, my bluegrass version, as a bonus track, so I was excited about that.”
